Ich habe Win98SE. Bei mir hängt nach kurzer Zeit (ob ich telefoniere oder nicht ist egal) das ganze System. Phoner geht auf 100% CPU und ist nur noch über den CTRL-ALT-DEL Taskmanager zu beenden. Mit der alten Version 1.80 (die ich zum Glück noch aufgehoben habe) funktioniert alles. 
BTW die Beta hat das gleiche Problem.

Wenn ich in die 1.80er Version die neue sipper.dll reinkopiere habe ich dieses Problem auch.

Phoner 2.17 oder 2.18beta mit der alten sipper.dll (von 1.80) scheint zu funktionieren (dann stehen zwar in der Titelzeile nach dem SIP Status ein paar bytes müll, aber telefonieren klappt). Diese Konstellation hängt sich dann aber beim beenden auf (aber nicht das ganze System).

Hoffe das Hilft bei der Fehlersuche Smiley

Leider steht mir kein Win98 zum Testen zur Verfügung. Kennt jemand einen legalen Weg, Win98 in einer virtuellen Maschine laufen zu lassen?

Hmm, wenn du eine Win98 CD (oder legale Lizenz und ein VHD-Image) hast, klappt das super unter Virtual PC (gibt's umsonst bei Microsoft)

Ich habe inzwischen ein WinME testen können, dabei jedoch kein Problem feststellen können.
Ich kann in der virtuellen Maschine jedoch nur SIP nutzen. Benutzt du eine ISDN-Karte?

mit virtualbox oder vmware server kannst Du auch USB nutzen, man sollte also ISDN damit virtuell testen können.

Die Frage war ja erst mal, ob überhaupt ISDN zum Einsatz kommt. Das nächste Problem ist, dass ich keine USB-Hardware habe, um das testen zu können und eine Fritz!Card geht eben nicht im virtuellen PC.

Please forgive the "me too". As I have already posted in the PhonerLite section, I also have this problem with Win98SE. It is the same with both Phoner and PhonerLite. No obvious cause, just suddenly it grabs all the kernel cycles. Latest versions of Phoner and PhonerLite. Using only SIP in both programs.

Whether or not I have made a call does not seem to be significant. I have not observed it during a call. Usually it happens within about 10 minutes of starting the program and registering with a SIP provider. I have been unable to identify any action on the PC that causes it. Many times the PC is sitting idle while I fetch a coffee. 

Windows 98; PhonerLite 1.48 and Phoner 2.21

Do I correctly understand Joe Cool to say that Phoner 1.80 did not exhibit this problem in Win98? If so, could you please make that version available for download, and the PhonerLite that was current with it? As you are leaving Win98 behind, I must accept that one day I will not have the latest Phoner(Lite). It might as well be now.

I tested it with PhonerLite version 1.50 and WinME in VirtualPC. Everything works fine here. PhonerLite runs for 8 hours now without any problem. Sorry, I can't reproduce the problem here.

What changes did MS make between Win98 and WinME? Are they relevant? 

What tests can I run that will give you useful information about the crash? 

Once again, it has "frozen" the system within the 20 minutes it took me to get a few things organised for tomorrow, and to make a coffee.

You can find some older versions here. There is no 1.80 on that server but 1.77 and 1.84 (and some other versions).
